Kibitz in Yahoo Spades basically means that any person who is not sitting, can "watch over your shoulder", and view your cards.

When they start to view your cards, you will see a text in chat saying they are now kibitzing. This means they can now see everyone's cards who is allowing them to. To stop them from seing your cards, turn kibitzing off. But realize that this just hides our own cards, and not anyone elses. If someone is watching, "kibitzing", then they can still see anyone else's cards and private message any cheats/clues they wish without your knowing.

When someone is not playing and just watching, kibitzing is being able to see everyone's cards. If you don't want watchers to see your cards, uncheck the box.

You want to turn off kibitizing because your opponent can log in with another ID and look at your cards!
