Reset your computer and try again - this time choosing to save the photo to your desktop.
By the way - the images shown to you in the yahoo e-mail are the full sized ones, they're just shrunk by the browser.
Maybe dragging and dropping them to your desktop will work where the "right click, save image as..." won't.
