A girl's trip is definitely in order! You don't need to wait until he goes on a guys trip though. Female bonding is important too!
You could have a spa day and spend the day getting massages and pedicures. (Then you don't even need to travel) Or, my girls and I went on a trip up to Napa for wine tasting one year. Or, to the beach. There are plenty of things to do- be creative!

Certainly a girls trip is something you should feel free to do. Even if it's a day trip to a great restaurant somewhere miles from where you live.
Drive...pick a road, follow it...see where it lands you.
Drive...take nothing but left turns...see where you end up. Or right turns.
Act like tourists in your own city...see some sites you've not taken in before.
What would your daughter like to do...or is she not going to be a part of this :) Get together with the "girls" and throw around ideas, invite them all over for an evening for a planning session. You'll all come up with something that you may end up carrying on every time your hubby goes away.
Enjoy! Hubby shouldn't have a problem with this, if he does, then I'd have to question why it's fine for him and not for you...

Things should definitely be equal. I know he doesn't like it but that's just too bad for him! He is putting you through the exact same thing.
As for where to go...there are tons of places! Where in California do you live? If you're down in southern CA, come up to San Francisco for a weekend or even up to Napa/Sonoma. Even though you probably won't be able to really do wine tasting with your daughter there, there is tons of shopping, spas, and it's a very relaxing area. There's also Monterey or Carmel, which is a nice place for a weekend trip. If you're from northern CA, LA is fun, San Diego is really nice too. You can also go to a bookstore or somewhere and find tons of books about weekend trips in California. So go and have fun - and don't let him feel guilty for doing the same things that he does!!

Men are very possessive of their women. We think nothing of going off for a week to hunt or fish or whatever, but we want our women at home waiting on us. We like the idea that the litte missuss is standing at the window, looking into the distance for us to come home. It makes us feel needed and wanted. We get nervous when we don't know where you are, whom you are with and what you are doing. We feel the need to be close to protect you from guys like us. When you are keeping the homefires burning, it's OK. When you are away from home, we get nervous-- we worry that some smooth operator is moving in on our turf. Men talk a big game about how they fooled around with other women when on a business trip, but it's all a lie. Smart guys know what they have at home. Stupid guys fool around and the truth will come out eventually.

I don't see a problem with that. Do something you've been wanting to do, go somewhere you've been wanting to go. The whole idea is to do something that you won't be able to do if you're in a trip or out together with your husband like going to a Spa and get pampered all day and bond with your girlfriends and talk girl stuff as long as you want. Oh, and make sure you get him something on your way back....

I don't see why you shouldn't take a girls trip. It makes me nervous when my wife does it, but that is because I'm not there to protect her.
I like how you said, it makes him like you more. I feel the same way about my wife. I want to be a better husband after I go on a trip. I remember why I married her, and why she makes me so happy.

Make it a girl's trip w/the kids. You have a daughter, so get one or two of your close friends w/children too (hopefully girls also) and go out camping, or go out to the movies and then come home and stay up late.... then when the kids go to sleep, indulge in a bottle or two of red or your preference of wine with some light snacks and stay up without the disturbances of MEN! :)

You should ABSOLUTELY take a weekend. I would leave your daughter with a babysitter (unless she's old enough to "party") and take a bunch of your friends to a ski resort in Colorado. That's what I enjoy doing!!!
