Listen to some really agressive music for awhile, and then listen to some really soothing music right after... seriously, it might sound weird but I do it all the time and it works. I'll listen to something like Pestilence (an awesome death metal band), and then after that CD, I'll put on something like Dave Matthews, Phish or Rusted Root and I'll feel overall balanced, and everything will be out of my system. It's awesome. Allow yourself to experiance the best of both worlds, a time to vent and a time to relax!

Hi there!!

Temporary relief: you can put your head down on your table, close your eyes, hold your temples with 2 of your fingers and gently roll. Do this with short breaks for about 2 or 3 minutes. Remember to breathe in and breathe out normally. Think abt something that pleases you the most when you do this.

Some routine habits to cultivate, that will help remove stress: (1) relaxed bath using some good aromatherapic calming light scents (2) sleep - very essential. Will definitely help. (3) Learning how to meditate. You can do it for about 15 minutes per day or every alternate day (4) Learning Yoga - same as 3. (5) Eat right.

Good luck!!

Remove the stress out of your life by removing whatever it is that is causing you the stress. Now if the stress is because your taking care of a sick relative, then you think about how your helping someone else have a little peace and comfort before they pass away or if your stressed from a marriage and relationship, then you work on what is stressing you or remove such person out of your life. If it's your job, I say sit down and have a talk with your supervisor on what is happening because to much stress can kill you. So whatever it is that's causing you stress, I suggest you start doing things that make you happy.

Exercise is a good way to releive stress. I personally like martial arts, as I can release stress and pent up frustrations in a safe and controlled manner, plus keep myself healthy as well as learn to defend myself and loved ones at the same time. Exercise releases endorphins into your system as well, bringing about a calm, relaxed, peaceful feeling which also helps fight stress in the long run. Other ways include finding a hobby that you really enjoy, possibly hiking in the forest preserves, which gets you away from the noise and congestion of the city, as well as gettingh you into a different environment, where the stress levels are much lower. Remember, though, to take some insect repellant with you if you choose this avenue. Avoid such things as games, though, as the competitive nature of human kind will just add to the stress levels you already suffer from.
Stress is actually very dangerous, as it ellicits a fight or flight response from your body, as well as causing your immune system to become overactive, which can trigger a lupis like response from your body, whereby the immune system starts to attack its' own body, causing alopecia areata (Stress induced hair loss), as well as a weakening of the internal organs as the immune system attacks them as well. If things have reached this point, seek out medical advice immediately, to prevent damage to your body from the stress.

The 3 R's: Relax, Release, Relief

Stress tends to become chronical. If I knew how to handle it, apart from taking pills that won't do anything, believe me, I would. Yes, there are pills, herbal remedies, meditation, sports and all but the only way would be to totally and completely eliminate the causes for a very, very, very long time.

Two things
first find a quiet place where once a week you can go and just yell your lungs out! with out disturbing anyone enough that they call the cops....that is...
the other thing is I go yard saling for cheap dishes.
when I need a release I go out back and throw a dish against the back fence! I have dogs so I always clean up after...

Exercise is my release... it feels good to get a good sweat going. Afterwards you're too tired for stress and those endorphins kick in and you feel like the weight is off your shoulders. I've got a couple of friends that do Yoga, which helps them very much.
