i'm not really sure, but i think it's odd that "normal" people should call diffrent people odd or strange when so far the majority of people on this planet are wierd, which would make them normal... it's a backwards statment

Normal is a concept, an ideal that people have and believe they share, though ideas of what is normal vary widely from person to person. In truth, normal is impossible, for to be normal there would have to truly be only two kinds of people: Normal and Abnormal. The Normal people would all act alike, exactly alike, and they would be the majority of all people on Earth. The Abnormal people would all act different from the Normal people and even from each other, and would be society's deviants. In point of fact, no two people are exactly the same, not even twins, much less the majority of all people, so normal truly does not exist, but it is a concept invented by the popular and powerful to exclude those they do not like, for whatever reason. Thus, the idea of normal is a ploy to exclude a portion of society that is then cast out, literally or figuratively, and labeled abnormal, despite the fact that they are mostly the same as the ones casting them out. Besides, if you ask me, the idea of normal is synonymous with "boring" because the "abnormal" things are fun, different, interesting-- like when someone says, "well we normally eat at the pizza place" and someone says, "well, why can't we try this new place instead?" Or when one of the Normal people (the popular or the powerful) says, "we're going to run these numbers until we make them work," and the Abnormal person (the one who thinks outside the box) comes up with a different solution that will achieve the same end without all the long hours of work. See what I mean. Anyway, I am proudly Abnormal, even though I have much in common with the Normals, and even though Normal is just a concept. I'd rather be Abnormal than boring!

Well-I went looking for a normal person many years ago. In fact, our whole group at work went searching for somebody normal. We almost agreed on the payroll lady, but realized she was toooooooooo nice, and that wasn't normal. The final consensus was that nobody is normal. Which made us all feel right at home!
Of course we first had to pre-define what IS normal. We decided it was a person with 1-2 years of college, married and not divorced with 2 children, semi-religious but not in a cult, nice but not too nice, with small problems but no huge ones.
Sorry we never found it.
So what is normal? Normal = abnormal. That is the solution. We are ALL abnormal, so nobody is normal, and we are all normal.

the word normal is just a mind set of an ideal lifestyle, etc. i dont think there is a such thing as normal. things change so much, from styles to gas prices, and then back to lifestyles. the only thing normal about life is change. thats what normal is, the cycle of change, moving forward in life. sorry if some of this didnt make sense.

I don't think there is a normal...Normal would be what the majority of people are willing to accept. I, for one, am not surprised by anything. So to me, everything is normal.

No one or anything is normal. Some one may think they are the only normal person on earth, yet we think they are crazy and we are normal. It's how life goes. I think I'm the only normal person alive, then again my friends may find me strange and I find them strange too. Thus, it's impossible to define normal.

Normal is an abstract concept that differs from viewer to viewer...
In America, it is normal to eat hamburgers. In India, this is sacrilege! Cows are sacred there....
On the streets, a man who talks to himself while rubbing his crotch with one hand and picking his nose withh the other is crazy. But when he is locked up in a mental institute, he is normal... Or as normal as everyone else locked up with him....
Its all a frame of mind!

Normal is a point of reference that nobody knows what it is. Webster's dictionary says "conforming with an accepted standard". Other than that I know I am far from normal.
