I watched the Season of Big Love on HBO and I dont think I would have a problem if polygamist were my neighbors. What is your opinion if you had a polygamist family living next door?

Hey I don't care if other people do it but it is not for me . Hell I have one wife that drives me crazy. If I had another I would have to have myself committed.

I used to live in St. George, UT and there were sooooo many there. I was a waitress and i'll be honest, the only reason I had a problem with them is cus they are very stuck up and rude, they dont tip well, and I listent o how the men talk to the wives, and how stupid the surrender to them. ALSO please know that the season of BIG LOVE is literally NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING at all like the real thing. I can't stress that enough. Why dont you watch and episode on like CNN special or some news crap on some REAL polygamist...we'll see if you care or not...maybe you will maybe you wont...its not like if they were your neighbors, they'd bother you...you would be the one bothering them.

I adore that show. I think there is nothing wrong with that and if my neighbors were a polygamist family, I'd be fine with it.. I'm open to different lifestyles and very accepting of the fact that there are tons of people constantly around me who believe in things that I do not. I don't judge most of the time, and as long as they are doing what they enjoy, then I have no problem.

I don't think it is possible to have a mutual relationship with multiple partners. Take Mormonism for example. I know the main church does not support polygamy publicly but it is in their beliefs and was practiced by all of them at one time. The founder Joseph Smith had numerous wives and even married a 13 year old. The problem I see is that when having a harem of women is not enough, you sexual quest for new eroticism moves to children.
If you have a one on one relationship, there might be more focus and respect for people.

Take out all the religion and it would be ok; i.e. everybody is an equal partner and agrees to it, not because of mormonism or some other quack religion but because they want to live together like a commune and have several women for example share one man. No problem to me that way. Big problem with religion.

People have the right to be who they want and I am not above them in anyway to say that they cant. I would not do it, but that's my choice. If roles were reversed, I would hate for them not to accept me just because I'm monogamous. People should live their lives for themselves not anyone else. And if everyone is happy, they are a lot better of then most! TGIF!

Wow Joseph Smith and a 13 year old? That is a new one to me and I have been studying his life intensively for the last 5 years! Please state your source! Mormons have tried to put distance between themselves and big love! I definately wouldnt expect them to tip becuase i can barely afford the one wife I have!

I love that show. As long as the polgamist were like the Big Love, I wouldn't care. The husband takes care of his families and his kids.
