You don't always know. You might know the name of the smallest dog in the world becuase you looked it up or someone famouses birthday. Those are facts. But when you read questions like what would the world be like without evollution? We don't know. We have an idea, but we don't know for sure. So you only sometimes know when something is true.

By knowing all that is not true

Truth is the thing which is unchanging. If something is changing, then we have to investigate what is not changing. Example, water is true, but different names and forms of the water may not be true.

Relatively whatever thing remains eternal is true, and whatever is non-eternal is untrue. One needs to inquire.

You can never really know if something is truly true it is the way that you see things that makes you think that they are true. In all reality they may be fake. (did that make since?)

Knowing what is true is often a combination of observation, research, experience, and faith (these are some of the same tools you will use, as you analyze the responses to your question).

Truth is a term relative to you your particular situation in life, such as race, creed, color and country......what is true for you is not true for people living 100 years ago in some respects...we have the need for food and water, but truth changes depending on who is dispensing it....as in Hitler's truth vs. Joseph Stalins' truth....to me, IMAO, truth is what is in you heart....and what does in your heart mean???? Got me!

Too general. You really need to be more specific with the question before I can give my uninformed and incorrect answer.

In a subejctive universe, you cannot. Descartes said all he knew was that "I think, therefore I am." But this is all really epistemological redundancy...not to applied to day-to-day reasoning.
