A scab is part of the healing process. Your body is repairing the damage to the skin under the scab, and protecting it from pathogens. When the skin is ready to be open to the air the scab will fall off. You risk infection and scarring if you pick at it.

Picking Tattoo Scabs

If you pick a scab on a tattoo you could ruin all that hard work the tattoo artist did for you. For starters, it'll leave a very noticeable scar, and you may peel off some or all of the ink with the scab when you pull it off. So if you have a scab over a tattoo, leave it alone. You'll regret it later if you don't.

If you pick at the scab it takes longer to heal and may remove some of the ink that was deposited. Best thing to do is buy a non greasy moisturizer such as Hemp lotion from the boddy shop and apply it regularly to help the scab heal faster and the oils in the hemp will make your tatoo look better for years to come.

It takes some of the ink off with it.. Trust me I did it. It also slows down the healing process. Best advice is to just leave it alone, even if you think it helps to remove the scab.

If you pick the scab off, President Bush will emerge from the slime underneath and attempt to turn you into one of his zombie-like Fundamentalist Christians. You will lose all control over rational thought and reasoning, and you will suddenly find yourself in agreement with the endless lies and half-truths gushing from his administration. In short ... you'll become just another neo-con moron.
So, let that scab heal naturally!

If you pick the scab off you'll pick the tattoo off with it. DON'T TOUCH IT. Trust me, my sister made that mistake. Just make sure you keep it clean and moisturized. Don't scrub it with a wash cloth or anything either.

It scabs up because the skin has been broken.
If you pick at it you will end up with "holes" (missing pieces) in your tattoo.

Basically the imprint of the tattoo will turn into a scar on your arm. Then when you are on your harley davidson motorbike you will begin to get terrible flashbacks & then you will get really hungry & will want to stop at a pizza hut & get a garlic bread with cheese & a soprano pizza. After that you will end up crying yourself to sleep & wake up in the middle of the night screaming whyyyyyyyyyyyy whyyyyyyyyyyy whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy did i pick that. Thats it.

It will shift the ink before the skin has a chance to heal and lock it in place. You will have more blurred lines.
