Ghost Ship is like more of shocking horror movie, The Ring was like the modern scary movie. The Exorcist was just crazy scary. And the Resident Evil movies are pretty scary too. But to me...The original night of the living dead and dawn of the dead, those people looked pretty dead to me!

this dates me but a long time ago
when TVs were just black and white
and had small oval screens, one of the major networks
premiered "Frankenstein" with Boris Karloff
I was like 6 but got to stay up later because it was Friday nite

now this was a premier for a movie that was made in the 30's

but it was being shown on TV for the first time. So it was kinda a big event

And it was scary - at least to us it was.

now if you were to see it
you'd think it was pretty mild and not scary at all
but in 1956 it was definitely scary.

The ring was pretty scary , but everyone seems to be forgetting the original night mare on Elm Street. I was terrified of freddy even before I saw it. This is the kind of movie that stays with you after you've seen it. one two Freddy's coming for you.

I think that the Final Destination movies are really scary cuz you know its going to happen and your on the edge of your seat just waiting for it to happen....its terrifying to watch how these people die...especially the car crash scene in the 2nd movie...I also think that The Grudge is scary as well as What Lies Beneath is a good scary movie without all the gore :)
