It's such a sweet movie. It's a romantic movie about a woman who moves to a very conservative French town with her daughter. She makes candies from chocolate and opens a small shop near the center of town. Soon she has everyone's attention. People either love her or despise her. Johnny Depp is a man from a group of people who travel the French rivers selling goods. He becomes her love interest.
The movie is romantic, and fun to watch. I'm sure you'll enjoy it - so rent it! What's it for?

Chocolat is one of my favorites! A wonderful story and make sure you have chocolate with you when you watch it because it makes you want to eat some chocolate. I loved this movie! Definitely worth renting.

I have almost every Johnny Depp movie and Chocolat is a very good one.

yes, it was a good movie. you should also rent the movie Like Water For Chocolate (Como Agua Para Chocolate). It is a very passionate film. It IS subtitled in English for the Spanish impared, but still, it is a great movie! have a great weekend

We had to analyze the movie for a college art class my last semester in college last year. It was wonderful! But very different...but as usual, Johnny Depp was wonderful and looked gorgeous in it. It has a lot of symbolism in it as well so be sure to look for that. Have fun watching it and let me know what you think if you do! =)

I love Joanne Harris' stories. The movie was alright, for a bloke. I think women will enjoy it more.

I loved it. I thought it was very creative and an amusing and artful look at dynamics between people and what is generally accepted as "the norm". Oh yeah, it's entertaining too.
