a cold damp cloth helps....actually just rest it light on your face and breath slowly, it will also help you to compose yourself.

The cream formula of preperationH has long been used for reducing the swelling around eyes. Two refridgerated cucumber, apple, or potato slices placed over your eyelids can constrict blood vessels. Cooled tea bags work to reduce puffiness because the caffeine constricts blood vessels and reduces swelling. Beat egg whites stiffly and applied with a brush or fingertip to the face and under the eyes will make the skin feel tighter and look less puffy. Add a couple drops of witch hazel, which also reduces swelling and will keep the egg whites from drying to rapidly. When I was little I had some problems with my eyes and dad used witch hazel. Worked wonders. You could also use what's at hand. Really cold water to wash those eyes and some Visine to get the red out. Sending some extra sites where you can find more ideas....

First of all cucumbers in actuality do nothing for your eyes. If you'd like to try and make the puffiness go down or away try antioxidents, such as the ones found in tea. What you do is you take two cups or so of warm water (not boiled, not extremely hot) and dip two teabags. Place them over your eyes for about 10 minutes and you should immediately see a difference.

Wrap some ice in a wet towel, lie down and put the ice pack over your eyes and face. Try and stop crying before you do this or it won't work. Hope it make you feel lots better too. By the way why are you crying?

Awwww,a hug for you. Sorry to hear something is upsetting you enough for you to be crying so much.
I sometimes don't sleep too well and working at the computer for such long hours in the night and lack of sleep can play havoc on a womans looks, lol
I use iced t-bags sometimes, and if you relax long enough with them you'll feel the magic in the bags tingling under your eyes, very therapeutic.
Another to get is cucumber gel, very cheap and good to use under the eye in the morning, t-bag trick at night.
Do not rub the eye, and most importantly..............
stop crying.
Try and pamper yourself a little to help relax like a hot bath etc, it will help to keep you strong while feel weak.
God Bless you xxxxxx
Lots of love and strength sent your wayxxx

Splash some cold water on your face, but be gentle about it. Rubbing it with anything, including your hands, or a tissue or towel, will further aggrevate it. There's no easy way to make the swelling go down really quickly, but if you keep gently splashing cold water on your face, it will go down faster, and the redness will go away quicker.

first of all baby girl, take a deep breathe in thru your nose and then blow it out hard through your mouth.
do this 3 - 4 times. make you some pretty tea to drink and put the tea bags in the frig to chill while you relax and enjoy your tea.
ok, now wash your face gently with cool water and a gentle cleanser. gently pat your face dry.
lie down in a cool place and take chilled tea bags and place one over each eye. (please close your eyes). for fifteen minutes (or more if you please), continue to focus on your breathing while the tea bags work their magic.
when you get up, you will feel refreshed and calmer and your eyes wont be as puffy.

cucumber slices or a cold, moist washcloth is a quick, at-home remedy. one that you can buy at the store and always keep in the fridge is a gel eye mask. most drug stores and probably Wal-mart carry them. they're great for headaches and eye strain too, when you've been at the computer for too long. go to the section where all of the loofah sponges and other bath stuff is and they'll most likely be there.
