The water is very clear and what you are seeing is the coral reef at the bottom. The water will also get darker when it gets deeper. Hence the term "deep blue".

Hey Mate,
The water is appears to be two colors becasuse of what's underneath it. The ligher color is mostly sandy and the darker color can mean rocks and/or deeper waters. Beware the rocks! If you're swiming in some waves you can nail one of those and really do some damage - I speak from experience!
Enjoy your trip!
Cheers,

As the water gets deeper less light penetrates
and is reflected off the bottom. If you go to Miami
and go offshore the water changes color three times.
After you get out really far it is like a transparent
almost black/blue color. Very nice.

The ocean changes color when it gets deeper.
It doesn't change color it's because the sunlight does not reflect off the bottom anymore because it's deeper.
