I started my online business in 1999 with only $500 in capital, which I used to buy a computer, Microsoft Frontpage, and a chair and started my information website. I have no knowledge of HTML (until now my skills are very limited) but I created a website.

I now earn 5-digits a month from my website -- earning in 2 months what I used to earn in one year.

For me, the key is to create a good product. Then find a way how to get the word out there. If you limited capital, you have to learn how to do everything yourself - not the most efficient, but saves you a lot of dollars. So you have to be willing to learn, learn and learn.

I suggest you read the following success stories of other women entrepreneurs to inspire you

Eileen Coale (a successful copywriter) http://www.womenhomebusiness.com/success/ecoale.htm
Amilya Antonetti (she was featured in Oprah) http://www.womenhomebusiness.com/success/soapworks.htm

I suggest you check out the SBA's Online Women's Business Center http://www.onlinewbc.gov/ and learn from them

I have not but I have some handy resources that should assist you further. Here are some relevant book titles:

* Small Business Savvy: A Woman's Guide to Building a Business by Norma J. Rist, Katina Z. Jones
* The Woman's Advantage: 20 Women Entrepreneurs Show You What It Takes to Grow Your Business by Mary Cantando
* The Women's Business Resource Guide by Barbara Littman
* Powertools for Women in Business: 10 Ways to Succeed in Life and Work by Aliza Sherman

Associations may be a good avenue to explore. These organizations will address many of the thoughts, questions and concerns you'll inevitably have as well as many you haven't anticipated yet. See the source box for some relevant links.

I also posted some article & site links in the source box.

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!
