Go to the Help Section in Yahoo Mail or whatever Yahoo service and in the Help Search Box, type in: "Close My Account". Then browse the given results until you find the right heading (its usually: "How do I delete my Yahoo Mail Account?"). Follow the instructions provided and read the Terms.
Remember though, that if you have registered for services, either online or not, with that account, you may want to close, change or update them first. Also, someone who could be abusing your account may sign up with the same username and pretend to be you online. Also, after at least 4 months of non-use, Yahoo! will automatically terminate it. Its better that you just check up on the account every now and then instead of closing it. After all, if you're not using it anymore, why would you care that it exists?
