Okay, a lot of you assume I know nothing about anything, which is sometimes an accurate assumption. What I'm wanting to know is specifically how to best use the dots (or diamonds) on the rails during the game.

They are there to help you bank better. Here are a couple of sites that should help. Top one is the diamond system, second shows alot about pool.

The dots on the fabric are the spot where the rack is placed at the beginning of the game. The diamonds on the boards are for aiming for bank shots.

The dots are for telling the boundaries of where the break shot is.

If you scratch, the cue ball goes on one of the dots when you put it back on the table

Where you line up the top ball in the rack to set up for the break.

they're good for aiming, i also use them so that if a ball goes of the table(when i'm playing that happens alot...yes i no i'm bad) that's where you put it as a starting point.

the little white diamonds?? ya they are for aiming, to make sure you get the right angle when you shoot
