I think is is great. Nothing aginst the fans, but i think racing is a dumb "sport." I guess anything seems dumb when you don't care anything about it. I like good hitting sports like football and rugby.

it is only going to be an insult if people take it for more than it is worth. it is a comedy movie with a NASCAR base. in no way is the movie a 100% acurate depiction of the the sport, the fans or the drivers and teams. if you keep that in mind, it is not an insult. check out the link below for an article that i think does a great job at answering this question. big name nascar insiders (corporate people and drivers) would not have supported the movie if it was insulting.

I think the movie is actually in a way stupid. I am a die-hard fan of nascar and i know some drivers personally. I think talladega nights is an ok movie but yes its an insult to the fast growing sport in america. NASCAR to most can say "oh who wants to watch cars go around in circles". But why is it that sports fans have to criticize Nascar? Do you ever hear a Nascar fan complain about monday night football. NO. we have better things to do with our time.

It's all in good humor, I think! Will Farrell is a fan of Nascar, so who better to play the part! I am going to see it this weekend and I am a Nascar fan! I think it is a promotion, to show non-fans, like you, that we are just a bunch of people having some harmless (usually) fun!

Who knows though, here's an article on the movie and it's offensive side:

"Talladega Nights" is an insult to the entire populace of this planet. Be it about NASCAR, college life, relationships or midgets dressed as babies -- this movie is another prime example of the rubbish Hollywood (And the music business, too!) is peddaling just to make a boatload of money from anyone willing to accept it as viable entertainment..

I think Talladega Nights is an insult to intelligent people everywhere - so no it is not an insult to Nascar or it's fans. LOL

nicely, Talladega does not have lighting put in at their song. Martinsville could, inspite of the incontrovertible fact that. yet you're precise, i could particularly desire to make certain night races there additionally. it may be suitable for a short song like M'ville, and it may look extraordinary at Talladega. Dover could be a brilliant song to hold night races, too.
