Has anyone noticed that ever since Mel Gibson made those comments about Jews, there have been more and more of his movies on TV lately?

Right after it happened, TBS was playing Lethal Weapon movies almost every day and right now, I'm watching Ransom on Cinemax.

Is the media doing this because they want us to see Gibson in a good light? Or because they want us to be thinking about him?

I think Mel meant what he said and now the media is trying to keep his face fresh in our minds to make Israel look good while it destroys its Arab neighbors.

I would say it is just a coincidence since television schedules are set ahead of time.

And what day doesn't go by that TBS is re-running old movies? Especially cop dramas like Lethal Weapon and that one with Jackie Chan in it....I can't remember the name.

Anyway, I think Mel dug his own grave on this one and it's bull&hit that anybody uses alcohol as an excuse to get out of bad behavior. I have never understood why "stars" get a break when they mess up. Do you think if it would have you or I that got caught drunk driving with a blood alcohol of 12% & started calling the cop names we would have been let go with a slap on the wrist? I don't think so.

The media doesn't care about Gibson, or what anyone else thinks about him. If anyone is deliberately showing his films because of what he said, it's to get better ratings.

There is no incentive to get people to see him in a good light. There is incentive to capitalize on publicity, though. If Gibson is a household word, then making his films available makes more sense than airing "Clueless in Seattle" or "Saving Ryan's Privates."

True! And I bet it's to remind us of a what a great actor he is. Okay, so he made a few "unnecessary comments" Give it a rest! He isn't the only one to go off against people! There have been plenty of people who have said awful things about Christianity and you don't see us persecuting anybody...oh, yeah...that's right...Jesus taught us that...not everyone knows how to live in peace.

Actually he's becoming more popular here in Asia(huge market for American movies) after his remark about Jews.
So his career is not over yet.
After all Jews in Hollywood are heavily depending on foreign market.

LOL, if that is really true, then he's geting more and more publicity than ever before.
And who cares about what he said when he was drunk. I bet plenty of other people have said worse to cops!

probably a coincidence since most movies/shows are scheduled way in advance....bottom line is he probably got a lot of influence from his dad who had made many anti-jewish comments and this all came out in a drunken stupor..he probably really thinks that way about jews but has to deny it to salvage his career

He has a long way to go. If you go to tmz.com, you can see a reproduction of the police report.

Scary.
