The player who did the tackling didn't have any mean intentions but it just happens that it results in an injury serious enough to cause a players' death within 2 hours. Are there going to be any charges pressed against the offending player? are there even any FIFA rules covering this?

It would depend very much on the particular circumstances.

There are no specific Fifa rules governing this, and all professional players must be covered by their club's insurance policy against serious injury, and even death. Additionally, most players have their own individual insurance policies.

The dead player's family, or maybe his team, might wish to bring charges for compensation against the player who caused the death, although legally it would be practically impossible to prove with any certainty that the tackle was reckless enough to cause a loss of life..so the liklihood is that it would be regarded as a tragic accident.

Well you said yourself that the player who did the ackle didn't have any mean intentions so nothing would happen to him.

For example if a I slide tackle you and take the ball but you trip over me and hit your head on the ground and die, it wasn't my fault or anyone elses fault it was simply an accident, therefore I wouldn't get in any trouble for this, as I'd have proof it was an accident with all the video evidence.

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm....... even though it's highly doubtful that that would happen, there are most likely FIFA rules about it, and I don't know about the charges part.
