I've asked the same exact question. I mean, when I'm drunk I usually talk about sex and how to get more booze. Jews don't usually even cross my mind, unless they're the ones offering me drinks. Or sex.
More seriously, of course you can say things you don't mean when you're drunk, but not to the extent that Mel Gibson did. It was a complete tirade. He must have at least some prejudice against Jews, that much is obvious.

Never, although I have commented on a Jewish person in the bar, but he was wearing a yarmulke and dancing happily. I said to my boyfriend, "Look at him! He really looks like he's having fun!".... Does that count? No, I'm not making that up...
I find that things that get me ranting when I'm drunk are the things I would rant about when I'm sober...anti-semitism is NOT one of those things. Being unable to find my shoes IS.
BTW I only commented on the fact that he was Jewish so my BF would know who I meant as there were many other people dancing, this guy was just so enthusiastic!And a good dancer.
