Thing is is that if I quit then he will get the ratings points. I can see that he is still there as yahoo games give you a thing saying the last time that they touched the window and according to that he touched it a minute and a half go.

Is there no-one that you can report him to mid-game?

cheers,

This happens all to often. Timed games is the key. However if you are in a game that is not timed, There is a 10 min move rule that you will be able to force forfeit (of you opponent). Then you win, but you have to wait out the 10 min. I've had some people that are such pricks about it, that they move every 9 min. Just to draw it out...At that point I usually resign....It's NOT worth the ratings points. Which are worth about as much as your Yahoo answer points.

Good luck in future games and remember to set a timer, just to keep everyone honest.

I would highly suggest NOT playing an unlimited time game online many players are bad sportsman they start losing then they pout when they don't like the position or they become very angry when you refuse there offer of a takeback OR they use
a a computer or an automated buddy to play out the game.

The safe move is to play your games unrated so if the guy decides to not move at all you can abandon the game and +cens the loser.

Well may be the opponent is set up to be used by a human. Check whether the opponent is the computer. You may have to change the settings. Try moving your opponents piece to confirm. By the way just to remind you white moves first.
