my boyfriend went to the doctors yesterday, they thought he had a torsed (twisted) testicle, but that was ruled out. they checked his prostate, and found that it was enlarged. his testicles are very painful...he is only 21, should his prostate be enlarged? what could be causing his prostate to be swollen and his testicles to be painful? the urologist ruled out kidney stones, but as far as his prostate being enlarged, told him to come back in a month. i think he should get a second opinion, and that this matter should not be handled so lightly, in light of the symtoms and his age. im not sure what to do or whats causing it. any ideas or advice???

Enlarged prostate in a 21 year old is very odd. I'd get a second opinion. Did the check for infection? Cancer? That's just not common and isn't something you let go for another month without looking deeper for a cause.
