This is only going from the experiences of my family that have been through this - one of them - married happily (and I do mean one of those lucky people from the 'old school') who had been married for over 30 years, asked her husband for a divorce after about 6 weeks on HRT - serioulsy - they so didnt agree with her. She came off them and they were fine again. My aunty, who is like my second mother, had the horrors of bowel cancer, and had to be really careful about food stuff etc because it played havoc, and when she came off of HRT after 4 years, all the issues which people assumed were from the recovery of bowel cancer were infact a side affect of the HRT she was taking. So based on that experience - give it a few weeks to see if you get an improvement, and if you dont, revisit your dr, tell him how you are and give them a miss again. See how you go. It could just be a trial and error thing whilst you find a suitable drug, or you may just have to just deal with the uncomfortableness for now and let your body settle down again with out the 'miracle' cures.
Good luck either way. Its horrible to be miserable. I am sure things will improve one way or another. Chin up. (meant in a nice way, not patronising)

There are several types and strengths of patches. If you don't feel it is working after two months, go back to the physical who prescribed it and talk open and hosestly.
My understanding is (I used them) that patches put the medication into the body without going through the liver, hence less side effects. But my doctor ended up trying several kinds before we found the one that worked best for me.
Did you see a family doctor or a gyn? If you haven't been to a gym, GO. Specialist usually have a better grasp on the state of the art (lastest) treatment for female reproductive problems.
Also have you had a full physical that includes thyroid testing, which can affect energy and mood.
There is no reason to suffer!

when I first started on HRT they tried the patches but they wouldn't stay on my body, then they put me on tablets but I was blacking out at the most awkward times. Then eventually I had HRT implants, which have been great, but have been told now that they are withdrawing this from the hospital lists, and so I have had to come off everything (after 13 Years)At the moment I don't feel too bad. Just keep trying till you find one that suits you.
