i am 4th generation.How can i make a family tree.?

My great grand parents came from Pondicherry. I know they had land in Karikal. All i want is to prove my roots.My grandma was an only child, so was my dad.

I have no Idea where those places are. What you can't find on ancestry.com you will have to research through church, civic, hospital and doctors records. My Aunt Shirley did some research and went to the place in Salt Lake City with all the resords, for almost two years she searched until a little old man helped her and as she put the finally found info on the computer tree a whole bunch of different trees opened up and that led to a huge family reunion.
