For some sexual attraction first dominates, for others romantic love develops in the beginning more dominantly than sexual attraction. For most, these are experienced for the opposite sex. When these most deeply defining qualities of your being are for the same sex, then you know you are gay. When you experience these things towards both sexes, you are in the middle of the sexuality continuum, that is you are bi.
Many ppl fall towards the straight side of bi on the sexuality continuum. Hence, the righteous preaching that homosexuality is a choice. It's unfortunate that they don't acknowledge that they experience some level of same sex attraction but that it is not dominant to their being so they choose to be straight. Just as there are ppl on the straight end of the continuum who have no choice about their heterosexuality, there are LGTB ppl on the opposite end who similarly have no choice. Given all the hate, prejudice, and negative stigmas, I think it's fair to say that choice is not part of reality for most ppl who identify as gay or lesbian.

When you are strictly romantically attracted to only your own gender. If you are attracted to both sexes and that's why you are asking this question you are bisexual and not gay. Being gay isn't a choice you make, you either are or aren't. Don't believe the straight fanatical religious idiots who tell you it's a choice, ask them when they made the choice to be heterosexual. They didn't - it came naturally, and homosexuality isn't any different.

I personally think that people are bisexual, but are trained by society not to think of a same sex relationship. If you find someone attractive, it shouldn't matter which sex they are. If you think you might be, find a gay friend, or call your local GLBT Hotline to talk to someone. Coming out is scary, and being able to talk about it helps a lot.

When you find you enjoy being around the same sex more than the oppsite. When you notice your heart races and find yourself thinking about the same gender. It is different for each person, but you probably already know if you are asking this question.
Either way it is okay to be yourself.

When you walk out of the closet and get the notion "Hey, I'm gay." That's when you know.

If you have to ask,
then you are.
No judgement on you, if that's your thing then go with it.
But, there is no such thing as bi-sexual.
If you are a guy and smoke poles or a girl that munches box, you're gay.
And that's ok, just be yourself and be happy with it.

To be a homosexual, is to be an AIDS recipient and you will eventually die a slow, painful, death....and then in the afterlife you will be separated from God for eternity and your soul will rot in hell. Do you really want this? Repent now! Christ loves you and will take you back or welcome you to his flock!
