From a mom of 3 girls, it does sound like you are becoming a young lady. If you want to go swimming you will probably need to use tampons. There are ones that are the perfect size for a young lady such as yourself. They are slender ones and will have an insert inside the box for you to read and look at to show you how to use them. I know how embarrassing it is to talk to your father but think of this, your mother goes through the same thing every month unless she has had a hysterectomy and your father has been with her for a long time so he knows what goes on. Ask him to call your mother and let you tell her what is going on because its definately something she would want to know and needs to know. If you don't know how to tell him or are too embarrassed then say "Dad, I have a very personal problem I need to speak to mom about and can you or I call her?" Your mother will probably want to talk to him about it and that way you don't have to be too embarrassed.

A discharge from the vagina area that is usually red in color and association with some tenderness of the breasts is a good sign. If your Mother is gone, go to a trusted female teacher or school nurse and ask for help.
You can wear either sanitary pads, which you need to change several times during the day. Or, you may learn to use tampoon which must be changed at least twice a day.
Actually I bet if you went to your Dad and said, "I think I started my period (he knows about them), what should I do?" I get he will find someone to talk with you or he will.
Don't be embarassed. This is a fact of life, a milestone for females.

is there any blood? if there is then yeah u got it, even if it is just a little bit. u got it, if it is a little bit, then take a note that next time u get it, it will not b like that there will b a lot more. go look for some pads if there is a lot. your mom will probably have something. if u don't find any use a whole bunch of toilet paper and check it every once and a while. good luck, it isn't very fun but u will get used to it. :)

Well if you are bleeding from down there, then most likely you are. You might want to raid your mom's bathroom and see if you can find any pads there. Otherwise I'd get to the store to buy some pronto. Wadding up some tp can suffice for a short while. Good luck

This sounds a little weird (that you would have NO idea) but anyway, if there is a discharge of blood (probably mixed in with some mucus) in your panties then you have begun. Sometimes it looks streaky of very faint in color. Don't panic. Use a panti liner or heavier protection until your mother returns.
