I looked at Target and the newest edition they have is 2002. But on Half.com they have 2002 and 2005. Anyone have either? Is there really a difference or can I just get the 2002 edition since it's cheaper. Sometimes books have updates the are helpful and sometimes it's not worth the money. Just curious.....

There has not been very many changes from 2002 to 2005. I would suggest getting the 2002 since it is less expensive. I had the 2002 with my last pregnancy and now have the 2005 with my daughter's pregnancy. Not much difference.

I consider this book the Bible of Pregnancy. I would also suggest thet you look in some used book stores for "What To Expect - The First Year" and "What To Expect - The Toddler Years" This will get you through to your child's 3rd birthday.

I have all three books.

I have "What to Expect When You're Expecting" as well as "Your Pregnancy Week by Week" and they are both very good books. The first one answers your medical questions and is very very informative if not a little clinical and the second one is also informative but it's a little more "touchy feely"...I don't know how else to explain it...but they are both good...I've read them side by side throughout my pregnancy and they have both been helpful

I would save the money on the 2005 edition or "what to expect.." and just get the 2002...and use it to by "What to expect the first year"...it's also a VERY VERY good book and very informative.

Good luck, congratulations and yay for you for educating yourself on this miracle you're going through...so many women don't bother and then go through the whole thing clueless.

I never read a book when I was pregnant with my boys. I think it is better talking to people about there experiences. Books never tell you the "dark" side of pregancy. I would try
ivillage.com the have expecting boards so that you can speak with people who are due the same month as you. And pregnancy week by week. And try babycenter.com also. But if you want a book I wouldn't get that one I've heard it sucks try something else. I would try Borders or some other book store beacuse Target isn't going to have everything. Good Luck

Go for the 2002. I had one, but didn't read it all that much...it was helpful in some areas and it's a nice reference for when you need some answers. I don't think much has changed in the edition over 3 years...I'm sure the same concepts are the same...just some re-wording and maybe new pictures...

Even though I have the 2002 version and my girlfriend has the 2005 version I wasn't that impressed with that book. I think that it caused a lot of unecessary worrying. I would recommend the week by week of pregnancy book instead.

If you are set on getting this book I would say it doesn't really matter there is such little difference between my girlfriends and mine we couldn't even find the differences.

Good luck in your pregnancy.

Save your sanity and don't get either. According to that book pretty much everything you will experience between conception and birth is either nothing or a life threatening emergency and there's no way to tell which so call your doctor.

I hated that book (the 2002 edition).

I would just by the cheaper one. I am 22 weeks pregnant and i have that book too. I really dont like it that much. it's not very informatative, i ould suggest a book called "I'm pregnant!" This book shows you real life (3d ultrasound)pictures of your baby as it grows! I read it week by week to know what my baby is doing! I Love the book!
