How old are you? What grade? Do you attend a school which has access to the arts? You must start with participating in school activities - even sports. But acting demands that you at least have some speech classes, participate in forensics, plays dramas, exercise public speaking or performing opportunities. You have to study forms of drama - at least enough to know stage presentation, and other acting formats. Do you attend plays in your city? Check local listings in your community papers for general acting opportunities. Many of them will audition non-professionals for small parts. You have to get busy and put yourself in places where you can be associated with the craft and career of your choice. Music, dance, speech, forensics, all of these are school-opportunities that you can get involved in. It also helps if you have a 'mentor' someone who knows and believes in you and can help you through this process. Everybody sees the "big picture" (Disney, commercials, etc.) before they see or witness the steps involved to getting there. You need to concentrate on the small steps first - the Disney opportunities may or may not come - the point is - do you REALLY want to act? If so, then Disney is just a small stepping stone to your goal - suppose you move above "Disney"? In other words, don't limit yourself.

Best thing to do is get some experience acting. If you are still in school, sign up for drama classes. Then look for a local community theater and get involved. You will learn acting (singing and dancing) plus get experience to list on your resume. You can also learn lighting, sound, makeup, customes, set design and building, special effects and more than will help you in any serious acting career. And its all for free.
Plus the community theaters are usually the first to hear about auditions, etc. (Disney and the others tell the experienced people first - they don't want amatuers coming to the auditions.) I have watched several members of our community theater go on to movies, commercials, stage and more. In facts last Monday about 30 people from my group did scenes for a movie coming out next year (I couldn't get off work).

I know some people like that. Totally keep praying and try to join a drama club so that at least you get to practice. Believe me, if you have the gift and are persistant in working towards your goal, you can make it. It's just a lot of hard work. Also keep on the look out for casting calls near where you live.
also, and I don't know if this will help, there's this website you can check out to get ahold of a group who will interview you over the phone:
www.modelsearchamerica.com/events.asp
it's not just modeling, it's for aspiring actresses too. wish you luck!

Find out when there are auditions, you can even contact the Disney channel and ask them if and when they hold auditions. I have a friend who is best friends with Rikki Ullman's younger sister (NO JOKE - her parents are good friends with his) and I can ask her what he did to get his start, although, I know he was also on episodes of Law and Order which is how a lot of people get their start or on ER as a patient - check it out.

All you need is a talent agent. Don't worry, you don't need to pay them unless you get a job from them. Usually what you need is some pictures of yourself ('headshots') and some experience acting (like in a play at school.
Check out this website: http://www.agentassociation.com/
or google for talent agents. If you are under 16 you may also want to search for a 'child' talent agent in your area.
Get one of your parents, relatives, someone you know (if your parents won't support you) to call the agents to schedula an audition, try your best in the auditions, and good luck!

www.ohio drama.com (if your town has something like this get into it ) you will want and need the experiance for your resime..then after about 2-4 years of that you need to get a little bigger apply at different schools and do plays get your name out there ...after you do that here is a must GET AN AGENT an aget will solve all your probolems what he does is find you auditions ..for you to go to if you make the part He takes like 20% of your profit (not bad really) after you get an agent all your probolems are solved.. and you cant give up you will proboly fail 300 auditions beafore you make ,one, but thats the price just keep going at it..its not for the quitters

You never know until you tell your parents what your dreams are. If they laugh at you-don't let that stop you from following your dreams. If they support you-awesome.
Get your hands on any acting project you can do. Get an agent too. Good luck.

I make movies here in Dallas. My advice is to get on craigslist.con and look in your area for small non-paying gigs and get the experience. Build a resume of your acting and audition, audition, audition!
