They're all pretty violent. They were little mockery of goverment at the time, not really kid stuff. It's funny because now in days some people get carried away with "hidden meanings"

I remember talking about this once, someone brought up the rhyme that goes "Mary, Mary, quite contrary, How does your garden grow? Silver bells, and cockle shells and pretty maids all in a row" my friends response was "She did it!! She killed them and burried those poor girls in a row in her garden!! *foamspaz*"

Lol now I hardly think that's what it means, but my personal opinion, I'd say Rock abye baby or Three Blind Mice.

Three blind mice, three blind mice.
See how they run! See how they run!
They all ran after a farmer's wife,
Who cut off their tails with a carving knife.
Did you ever see such a thing in your life,
As three blind mice?

Probably not actually a nursery rhyme, but kids sing it. Lizzie Borden took an ax; gave her mother 40 whacks. When she saw what she had done she gave her father 41.

Little Bunny FuFu was hopping through the forest,
Scooping up the field mice and bopping them on the head...

I have a very clear memory from kindergarten of singing this with the class and being whacked over the head with a book by the boy sitting behind me.

They are all violent ...I was gonna say Humpty Dumpty, or
Roca-bye-baby, but people already said that, so how about The Jack Jump Over The Candle Stick one....think about it. And definietly the Three Blind Mice......that's a mean one and people wonder why we have hate crimes.

Yes quite violent. Humpty Dumpty.....I dont read them to my kids yet. Although I may read them later (age of reason) when we can discuss where they came from...and make a connection with History for them.
