If the roles were switched and you were the boss and your employee came to work hungover wouldn't you be a little annoyed? Also, is this a regular occurrence? The reason he is (or you think he is) being difficult is because he can tell you're hungover. First of all, if you're so hungover that it shows, you have no business being at work! I don't know what kind of job you have but, being hungover is nothing more than still being drunk from the night before ( the effects of the alcohol haven't worn off yet). This could lead to a great deal of problems. You definitely shouldn't be operating heavy equipment ( or driving anything for that matter). If you have an office job, say like working in a bank or as an accountant, I know I certainly wouldn't want you playing with my numbers! Next time you're that hung over, call in sick. You're really NOT lying. Better you stay home and recoup, than endanger not only yourself, but the lives of others; not to mention possibly screwing up the books or the money!

Why are you putting yourself at risk by coming in hungover in the first place? Idiot! Do you value yourself? Do you value your job? Maybe you boss sees some potential in you and is just disgusted because you are not using the gifts that are at your disposal! Quit being ignorant of yourself, and quit being selfish. Maybe you have much more to offer than coming in like a slob in the morning. I know...I've lost a job or two being the way you are. People just get tired of it after a while. And there's other people that can do your job just as well as you can. You decide.

Your boss is probably not being an ******, it's just your perception of him/her that day. Or you have a lower tolerance level when you are hungover and the things that don't usually bother stand out more.

Ever consider that just maybe it's not your boss that's being a "difficult ******?" Try keeping your hangovers resrerved for your own time - holidays and weekends, perhaps, and give your boss a fair day's work for a fair day's pay. Sound reasonable?

He definitely knows you're hungover. It's funnier, at least for him, to make your job more difficult. I would do the same exact thing.

They are jealous of your ability to set aside your professionalism so that you can party hearty?
I know that I'd love to just say screw it sometimes, and do something totally reckless. I think it's kind of funny when other people do it, IF it doesn't mean that I have to pick up their slack, and it doesn't occur consistently.
