OK....Yes it will hurt...but no more than getting stuck with a needle..if the one doing it is any good anyway......the smaller the diameter of whatever you choose....means the smaller the needle......It can get infected.....I've had mine pierced for about 11 years and have NEVER had an infection......keep it dry and clean and wear clother that wont rub it or pull at it.....Keep antibiotic ointment on it for the first couple weeks....don't try to change the ring for at least 6-8 weeks......when you do change it...make sure its stainless steel and clean both the new ring and your belly button before inserting with rubbing alcohol......if it does get infected...dont take the ring out.......keep cleaning with alcoholand using the cream.....good luck

When I got my belly button pierced it didn't hurt. It happened so fast that I couldn't really feel the pain. There is the possibility of infection, but the person that pierces you should tell you how to prevent infection. They should also give you some solution to put on it everyday.

I tolerate pain rather well, so it didn't hurt me. I had my tongue pierced and that didn't hurt until the next day, but the actual piercing didn't bother me. It's kinda like getting a shot, it only lasts a second. You have to keep neosporin on your belly button when you get it pierced to help it heal faster. If you use the kind +pain relief, it really helps. If it gets infected, just clean it out real well and keep the medicine on it. Make sure it's something you want forever, cause I have neither anymore, and I have scars from both.

even at 16, you'll still need a parent with you. no one will peirce anyone under 18 without parental consent.

belly buttons are one of the places on the body that takes the longest to heal due to the area...theres alot of movement that goes on in your torso area so it will hurt, it may get infected, and it will take a long time to heal.

the only way to prevent infection is to clean it regularly but even so, you never know what may happen.

why dont you get a peircing thats actually cute instead of one that every girl and their mother has???

Yes, it hurts. Yes, it can get infected but yes, you can usually get rid of the infection, but often it requires removing the jewelry, so you don't want to let it get to that. Navel piercings tend to get bumped a lot, so they can stay sore longer and take longer to heal than many other piercings. You should wait until you're 18 - women can have growth spurts until their very early 20s, and that can affect your piercing badly since it's just in a pinch of skin.

Yes it hurts and they almost always get infected. Belly button piercing are really susceptible to infection. Any piercer worth his weight will tell you that. I've had mine for like 9 years and it still gets infected whenever I change the barbell.

Yes, it hurts. Not so bad you feel like you're going to die, but....it hurts. It is very likely for it to get infected. Everyone I know that has their belly button pierced said that theirs got infected at the very beginning, but you can heal it. When it is infected is when it hurts really bad. So, when you get it done, do your best to not let it get infected.....

It doesn't hurt at all. Any piercing can become infected. The piercer will give you instructions on how to clean it.
