Get a new one. I even bought one on the manufacturers web site. I got exactly what I wanted and the price was reasonable. Best buy is good too.

Never buy a computer from Ebay. You never know what's wrong with it, they may not pack it right and may be damaged.

Buying one at Walmart isn't the best thing either. If something goes wrong, you will have tons of problems getting it fixed even if it's under warranty. You might have to take it somewhere, and you may also have to pay some fee.

Dell and Gateway have excellent deals on computers. You can pick one up at almost $500, sometimes less.
They have excellent warranty's, and if anything goes wrong, they will send a tech to replace the parts. You can also pay a few dollars more for and extended warranty for about 3 years, which is the best thing to do.

Pay the extra money for warranty, you won't regret it.

Good luck

Ok, I would personally rather get a new computer. They tend to last a lot longer. There is the one website where you can buy computers and computer hardware at a low cost because it's used but they completely refurbish all of the parts so it's as good as new. So far I've had no trouble with them and the parts are great! I would try go there first...

I hope I helped!

Saving for a new computer instead of a second hand one will insure you have a warranty and are not stuck with others junk. Technology is changing so fast and the pressure on Dell and other computer companies are forcing prices down quickly. Take you time in choosing the best deal and check the details of all offers.

If...
1) you don't mind it begin a older, used model (why do you think they are selling it)
2) you can fix it yourself if it breaks (no warranty)
3) you can support it yourself if something does work right (no help number to call)
4) you don't mind not getting an programs with it except Windows (why would they give you their software)
5) you can afford to run the risk of being cheated (while most sales are legit, it does happen)
then use e-bay.

Otherwise buy new from a reputable dealer

well the thing about getting it on ebay.. you dont know whats really wrong with it.. and it might seem fine, but it might have a hidden problem that wont come up for weeks. Then itll be too late to return it.

Get a dell. theyre pretty cheap right now.

**** or you can buy a used for cheaper at a STORE by your house that you can go to if there are any problems later.

Well, you can buy a new computer on ebay. I know of some reputable, reliable sellers who sell brand new Dell laptops at a fraction of the cost that www.dell.com sells the same item. However, shipping is usually high (between $50-$100).

my dad gave me a piece of advice NEVER BUY ELECTRONICS ON EBAY!!! he had that experience when he bought something that didn't work with a new computer you can have a warrantee so if something happens you can replace it or get it fixed. They have great deals at circuit city and best buy right before back to school

There is one reason only to buy from ebay.

price & trust of the ebay vendor..
If you dont know who the ebay vendor is or cant afford to buy the product unseen...dont buy.

Overall you are better off buying retail or from Tigerdirect.com over ebay.

With ebay you have a lot of problems.
With TIGERDiRECT, none.

It's better to buy new, unless you know how to rebuild, or troubleshoot computers. You never know what problems someone else has had with the PC. Also, with a new computer, you get a warranty.
