There is a continuing series by Roger Lea MacBride that takes up where the Little House series ends.

The first one is Little House on Rocky Ridge. Then there are:

Little Farm in the Ozarks
In the Land of the Big Red Apple
On the Other Side of the Hill

Am only now getting into them...and no, you don't sound weird. I know exactly what you mean!!

The new books for the series are good. You could also try:
Cady Woodlawn by Carol Ryrie Brink,
the orphan train series by Joan Lowery Nixon,
Little Women, Little Men by Louisa May Alcott

(My favorite little house book is the long winter.)

Edit: I like the Anne of Green Gables series too, though I tend to skip some of the long paragraphs where she is just babbling on.

As weird as it sounds, I really liked the Anne of Green Gables books when I was younger:

1. Anne of Green Gables
2. Anne of Avonlea
3. Anne of the Island
4. Anne of Windy poplars
5. Anne's House of Dreams
6. Anne of Ingleside
7. Rainbow Valley
8. Rilla of Ingleside

There are a bunch more about her kids, but I never read any of those. These are the closest I can think of, and I know what you mean, they do give you a comforting feeling inside, and they made me feel safe.....pretty cool for a kid raised in the middle of the concrete jungle.....
