In my other UTI question, I mentioned the walk-in office i went to since i was desperate for a presciption. Well, the doc wasn't any help with my questions. He did mention not drinking alcohol until my UTI clears. Why? Just curious and no, I do not have a drinking problem.

I'd imagine that either it interacts with the drugs or it's just that alcohol acts like a diuretic--it makes you pee (that's actually why you get a hangover when you drink too much--it's dehydration).

I don't know if your on medication, but doctors usually always say no to alcohol when your on meds.
