i think ur pc is infected with virus greatly.Sometimes mc afee fail to scan and repair all infected files. better u install norton antivirus or avg virus scan how ever u should format ur entire system along with all hard disks before u install any other antiviruses cos the virus in ur system has spread a lot.

there are a couple of things you can do, try them in this order
1st- disk defrag- right click on my computer, choose manage, then a new window will open. towards the bottom on the left you will see disk defragmenter left click that once, then on the right side highlight your c: then click on the defrag button and let the computer do its thing

2nd- click start then run then type cmd
a new black window will open, now type chkdsk /f /r
then hit enter, the computer will tell you it cant do it right now
do you want it to do it during the next reboot type yes
then clsoe that window
then reboot and the computer will do a few things that it doesnt usually do before it completely reboots

3rd- this option you can only do if you have the operating system cd, its a repair, put the disk in and reboot the computer, when prompted to hit any key to load from cd go ahead and do that, when you get to the part where it gives you choices choose a repair it will ask if you want windows to repair it or if you want to use the recovery console choose to let windows do it, then the computer will take care of the rest it goes through the same process as if you were installing windows for the first time.this option takes a little time to complete but when its done things should be ok.

good luck

This may have nothing to do with viruses, it may have a hardware or unrecoverable software failure. If it's under warranty, use it. If not try to look at the event codes to determine what happens right before the computer "freezes".

To accomplish this:
Boot into safe mode by pressing f8 when the computer first starts to boot, select safe mode and boot the computer.

Right click my computer --> then manage

Under the event viewer icon exists several types of events, you are looking for a system or application event that is occurring at or before the time your computer freezes. Right down the critical event and research the solution on the web.

Good luck!

I can't tell you why... but I can say that my PC does it too.. and it is not a virus or anything like that.. it happened to me in the very beginning when it was new..now what are the odds of a brand new PC containing viruses already.????? So I would rule that out.. and mine still does every once in awhile.. I am sorry I can't correct the problem, take care...

Hi, there must be some serious virus in your computer. perhaps you can also try Norton to stop the virus, but you should pay for the software.

i also recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar, which can disable the virus, becasue the virus can only run on IE.

firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and spywareware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

download firefox for free:
