My husband prefers the "natural look" but that means LIGHT on everything. I use foundation, powder, blush and light beige/brown eye shadow with black mascara.... light on the lipstick and gloss.
Some of our friends seem to think as they age, they need to apply more and more to "hide" the age lines... I think that makes the lines more prominent though.

I have heard that less is more. Light eye shadow, bronzing blush and a touch of lip gloss. But really if you like the way you look 9 x's out of10 so will everyone else.

I think you should try to look as natural as possible. I have 3 brothers and 2 brother-in laws and all of them prefer a natural look. My husband always tell me that I look better with no make up, but each guy has his own opinion.

For the day is better to use "natural look", well you can express your eyes or lips (whatever you thing is more beautiful on you).
At night you can have more make-up.
I think that guys do not like make-up, but I do it for my self and not for the others. So if you like wearing make-up...Just do it. Feel beautiful!

Wouldn't it depend on the guy (and I'm a woman)?
Everybody's tastes are different in so many areas, make-up included.
Sometimes I see a guy who's "natural" looking himself, but he's with a heavily made-up girl, which seems contradictory, but it's hard to predict personal preferences.

I like my makeup to be as natural as possible. I stick to neutral eyeshadows like beige, brown, etc. I wear lipgloss and peach blush. Make up emphasizes your flaws, so wearing as less as possible is good. Like older women think they have to goop it on to cover up their wrinkles, it actually emphasizes it. I'm not a guy but my boyfriends preferred me with little to no make up on.

With make up, less is more. Go for a look that accents your best features without looking fake or plastic.
