Tarzan isnt allowed a beard cos Jane has put up with living in the bush , but draws the line at kissing one..Lol thats Tarzans job.

Because as with all fictional characters HE DOES NOT EXIST!!
Who cares whether or not Tarzan has a beard, Johnny Weismueller was clean shaven, Ron Ely was clean shaven,
they were the first to play Tarzan so all of the ones who followed were clean shaven. Plus Tarzan has a contract with Gillette to promote their razors and therefore must be clean shaven.
Why don't you ask why Mickey Mouse does not have a beard??

Good question! I think it's mostly because the character was invented in the 1950's when very few men had beards on TV and those were the ones you couldn't trust. I do like the answer about rubbing his face on a rock, but that would actually be fred flinstone.
