I moved all over the country and was never in a school more than 2 years in a row. I think it both helped and hurt. The helping part came from being able to quickly find new groups of people to hang out with (thus it helped me in my sales career as an adult). I can quickly make others feel at ease. I also got to see a variety of people and places that helped me to become more understanding of a larger population of people.
It hurt in a way because although I am known as a people person I really have no permanent ties to any one friend. I have learned not to make any close friends because I knew I was going to move again so what was the point. Get to close and you would get hurt/feel sad when you left. So business wise it helped me....personally in real relationships it hurt.

my dad was in the military and we moved a lot.one thing that i hate is that i never got the chance of having a real bestfriend.we would stay in a place for two years then moved again,it depends on my dads deployment.its just that when im beginning to know or meet friends, after a few months or later that year were moving.would u believe that my bestfriend is a cat?!yeah!i had jappy,my cat, when i was in the 3rd grade and everytime we moved,he is always with us.he passed away when i was in 2nd year in college.
