The car is in both of our names and the people at this dealership don't like my husband and take it out on me . When I told them he would make a payment next week they snapped even asking why am I am maternity leave saying his daughter worked until two days she was to have a baby. I thought that wasn't right my husband got into a altercation with this guy weeks prior to this so he was taking all his anger out on me they even took my car what should I do I really feel violated when I wasn't even late looking at our contract there a 3 different dates and we agreed for me to pay my car payment on one date then when he gets angry at my husband takes it out on me and takes my car back mind you I never was late on a payment just 10 DAYS late but not actually considering the date we agreed for them to get my payment. Doesn't sound like pregnancy discrimination to me. The whole thing with the dealership sounds like a bad deal, or currupt. If you can afford it, get a lawyer to fight (you say according to the contract that you were not in the wrong). Or, just walk away from the whole thing. Save money for a few months and a buy a cheaper car outright. Debt sucks.

Dear SP,

I don't think this falls into the realm of pregnancy discrimination. It may call for a letter to the individual's supervisor, and (if that fails) maybe to the local paper (be sure to tell the complete truth and do not exaggerate, to avoid lawsuit) detailing exactly what happened and asking for an apology. Being late on a payment does not entail their right to make comments on your pregnancy.

That is a ticklish situation.
On one hand you have agreed to make payment well before the PG was a factor, and contract was easy then.

Now your situation has changed, that clearly does not involve the lien holder, and therefore the burden to adapt is solely upon you to uphold the contract, regardless of the reason.

Good luck!

i think that you should go to the police station and tell them to escort you to the car lot for now on...i would also told him that every womens pregnancy is different and untill he gets pregnant and know how it feels to be pregnant he needs to keep his commits to himself because you dont want to hear it!

It's not descrimination because you're pregnant.. he's just an a$$ who's using a physical characterstic to take out his anger.. if you weren't pregnant.. it would be because you were a woman.. if you were black, it would be because you were black...
