Harry Potter is a first year when the twins are ??? years? And same thing with age, he's, what, 12 or something when he arrives? How old are Fred and George? And if they're 2nd years, you think it would be okay for them to date first years? or if they're 3rd years to date 2nd years, so on... Also, since I'm writing a fanfic, I need your opinion:
The story is basically these two girls and a guy meet the twins and they all become best friends, and Voldemort killed one of the girls' father, blahblah, he didn't try to kill her so I'm not copying harry potter's the one who lived story, but Fred ends up working for Voldemort and ends up trying to kill the girl, as well, because Voldemort is all deadly and spiritish and not alive, because this is before Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone. -Gasps for breath-

Fred and George are in their 3rd and 13 years of in the first book. I can't remember what page it on but it says so specifically in the book. If you go on Rowling website it will tell you that you can't go to Hogwarts until your 11 http://www.jkrowling.com/textonly/en/faq_view.cfm?id=90 so by logic they're 13 at the being of the book and on her website it also says that they're birthday is on April fools day http://www.jkrowling.com/textonly/en/extrastuff_view.cfm?id=7 .

Fred and George were third years when Ron and Harry arrived. Ron and Harry were 11 and the twins were 13 and turned 14 during the year. In Order of the Phoenix (5th year for Harry), Fred and George dropped out of their last year at Hogwars,. They were 17 or 18 depending on which month that was.

When Harry was a first year, the Weasley twins were definitely third year. And when Harry was a 5th year, the twins were in their 7th year and they ran away.

I'm pretty sure they're in their 3rd year when Harry arrives because they tried to enter the triwizard tournament in their 6th year, even though you need to be 18 to enter or in your 7th year.

In the 6th book their in the 7th or 6th year soooo they were probably in the 2nd or 1st year
