Is there any way to take video downloaded from iTunes and convert it so you can watch it with another program?

I have an iPod mini, so can't watch video there, and watching the video on the iTunes player is prone to stops and starts - it's very frustrating. I've tried a couple of converter programs, but no luck. This is on a computer running Windows XP. Any thoughts

i have not found any. It is a protected file like the iTunes songs. I have not seen any hacks for it yet either. Ya never know what the future will bring.
