Have you noticed that Hizbolla is also targetting civilians ? Is this just blind revenge, an attempt to provoke Israel further ,or something else ?
Wouldn't it make more sense ,if they intend to defend Lebanon to target the military near the border ?

For Namsaey's info, one of Hizbollah's most notorious attacks was against American soldiers ,I believe, 250 died . Plus ,of course they have more recently engaged Israeli soldiers trying to capture Bint something or other .

I don't know what country Scotty the comic is from , but here in the UK the media regularly covers terrorist acts by extremist Muslims, and the sectarian murders in Iraq, Afganistan ,etc.., usually with plenty of condemnation. It's just that at the moment it's the Israeli army doing the murdering on the whole.

all of my life i remember my self watching amazing hollywood war movies. i ithink most of us watch them. and i like them very much. in these movies, most of them, there are the good and the bad. the good are always right, innocent, respectable, fighting with honnor. the good always win with glory and all the people are very happy. the bad are evil , they fight dirty, they do not respect anything and, finaly lose the war and they are very ashamed. that's ok for movies. it's only entertaintment. BUT this not a stupid hollywood war. This a real dirty war. in real war, nobody is the good and nobody is the bad. Everybody can see that both sides do terrible things. how can, really, anyone believe that muslim or anyother people on earth do not love them women and children. i have been working with muslims and i know that they are normal people. it's the war, the killings, the blood that brings more bood that make people hate eachother. this is not a religion war, yet, but as so many people "eats it" that it is,then it shall be. and nobody will be the winner

For the record. I'm NOT opposed to Israel's wanting to see Hezbollah neutered.
The kidnapping of soldiers should elicit a forceful response. I'm just not too sure what that should have been. So I'm not going to say what they are doing is wrong. But I woudn't have put any troops into Lebanon.
As far as Hezbollah targeting civilians. When has Hezbollah ever targeted anything else? The proof is they have fired over 2000 Katushyas into Israel and have not killed a single Israeli soldier with them. And no wonder Israeli soldiers aren't in the middle of towns.
As to why they fire at towns--Just to provoke Israel and kill any civilians they can.

the difference is that Hezbollah is using rockets and they are targeting cities. Rockets are unguided and prone to go off target.
However Isreal is using guided missiles that are capable of being aimed through a window or down a chimney - yet they have missed their true targets more often than Hezbollahs unguided rockets.
There is a really great blog at this address:
http://blogs.24.com/ViewBlog.aspx?blogid=4be6a7bd-a485-49f0-8983-554bf12c2645
See this quote
"Another highlight was a BBC reporter bombarding former Israeli Prime Minister, Ehud Barak, who was responsible for taking Israel out of southern Lebanon after 22 years of illegal occupation, regarding the disproportionate level of terrorism conducted by his government on the Lebanese people. I have never seen a politician stutter so pathetically since George Bush had to pronounce some Eastern European capital cities. The best question? “Ok, its obvious you want to skirt around the topic of civilian deaths at the hands of the Israeli army so answer me this: How many Hizbollah militants has the Israeli army killed?” I stood up and clapped loudly in the middle of our living room. His answer by the way: “Is that a serious question?”

The way I see it is Israel warned the civilians of So. Lebanon to get out.
Hezbollah blends into the civilian population and even fights in civilian clothing.
Hezbollah launches its rockets from populated areas, thus the term human shields.
Hezbollah is not targeting the rockets at military bases, only population centres.
Hezbollah wins each time a Lebanese civilian dies and each time an Israeli dies. They're winning the propaganda war.
Hezbollah does not care about the average Lebanese civilian they are hiding behind.

They aren't targeting civilians because the Russian ( Katusha ) rockets aren't sophisticated enough. They ( Hezbollah ) are pointing them at Israel, launching them, picking up the launchers and then moving down the road. As far as they are concerned, if they hit anything ( goats, weeds, telephone poles, abandoned cars ) on the Israeli side, they have launched a successful rocket. As for hitting civilians, the reason the Israelis are hitting so many Lebanese citizens is because Hezbollah launches their attacks from hospitals, schools, their backyards, and other areas in residential neighborhoods, hiding behind women and children while they do it because the Hezbollah/Muslim/Islam culture has no respect for women or children.

I loved your question and have been deeply moved and impressed by the answers. I'm with you; I love to see Lebanese rockets take out tanks, and it would be more productive in getting the ceasefire that will end the slaughter of innocents. But then, when this all started, Israel went into Gaza to get back a kidnapped soldier, kidnapped Palestinian ministers and spent a week killing people and destroying the government buildings and ordinary citizens' homes with hardly a squeek of protest from world leaders. if Israel had simply negotiated their lad's release with Hamas (and like all other innocents, he doesn't deserve to die), Hizbollah would not have opened the second front. Hamas, Hezbollah Lebanon and Israel have all made policy mistakes - the final outcome will be negotiation, so why don't people start there instead of moving in heavy-handedly with guns, bombs, etc.? I'm a Muslim and I feel the anger and outrage all Muslims feel at the slaughter of their fellows, but I do not accept the view that killing innocents around the world is following the faith truly Our prophet (peace be upon him) never went to war but to defend his followers and has given us superb examples of how to behave towards people who were once his enemies. Perhaps the world's leaders can learn from all the prophets, Jewish, Christian as well as Muslim how to create peace instead of war.

Well there's the small matter that Hizbollah has killed more soldiers than civilians, and Israel has killed nearly 10 times more children (let alone civilians) than hizbollah fighters. It seems for Israel Hezbollah are colateral damage in their war against civilians. How can a rabble with weapons first used by the USSR in world war two kill more soldiers than civilians when Israel with the latest precision weapons can't?

Hezbollah deliberately target civilians, Israel does not. But Hezbollah is held up in civilian areas, and they know that this will lead to Lebanese civilian casualties. They don't care, however, because it helps their propaganda war by showing TV reporters what has happened to civilian targets after a bombing raid. They have been known to make the scene more emotive by throwing the odd childs shoe, pram, teddy bear etc. onto the debris.

Yes! Hezbollah terrorists have been terrorizing Israel and had kidnapped Israeli soldiers recently that causes Israel to take a reprisal against them. I don't understand that why Muslims resort to kill innocent people all over the world. They not only killing people in Indonesia, the Philippine, southern Thailand, India, Pakistan, Russia, Spain, England,America etc, they even kill their own people in many Muslim country that have been the hot news everyday.

Both sides a re as bad as each other and their people have been warring for millennia...but I think that Hezbolla basically are trying to get international sympathy by placing its operatives within the civilian community....so when Israel bomb their positions innocents will be killed...and Israel are falling right for it!!
Both sides are as bad as each other..but once again the majority of the people just want peace its just the insane leaders out for blood!!!
