First, you cannot replace carbs with vitamins. If you cut out the simple carbs like processed sugars, white bread, cookies, cakes etc. You don't need to replace anyway, they are empty calories. You do need complex carbs however to maintain a balanced diet. And including complex carbs in the right amounts will still allow for healthy weight loss.
Second...vitamin pills are the biggest scam perpetrated on the world that there is, imo. The human body doesn't digest them, they go thru you without benefit. If you wish to take supplemental vitamins, get them in liquid form, so they are bioavailable. In other words, you can absorb and benefit fromt them.

All you need to do is find a good multivitamin. You'll get all that you need in one pill, instead of trying to choke down different pills for different vitamins. I'm on the low-carb diet, and take one multivitamin a day. The only advisory you might want is this: don't cut out carbs completely--you will likely get headaches from the lack of sugar. I've had that problem from my low carb diet. If you feel a headache coming on, eat a handful of m&m's or a few Hershey Kisses, or drink a soda. Your headache should go away. I've lost 15lbs already, and I've only been on this diet for about a month.

You need carbs, without them your body has no way of storing energy. Fad diets that cut out cards, and increase the level of protien are harmful to your body. In essence these type diets trick your body into thinking its starving itself and burn the stored energy which is fat. Your body uses protiens to help speed up this process, which is why people can loss wieght and quickly. The problem is however that once all the fat has been burned the body still believes it is starving and will continue to look for energy to burn, which is muscle. Further more, since your body believes it is straving once you reintroduce the carbs back into your diet your body will once again start to store energy and you will gain the weight back again if not more.

This is a very basic outline of what happens during a low carb high protien die, there is much more. Basicly Fad diets are called Fads for a reason. Nothing can replace a good balanced diet and exercise.

I don't think that's such a great idea. You should NEVER cut carbohydrates out of your diet. The new low-carb diets are in such craze because the dieters lose fat rapidly...but does anyone know why?

The truth is that YOUR BODY NEEDS CARBS TO SURVIVE. Your brain needs carbohydrates to properly function. And since your body is deprived of vital carbohydrates, your body looks for another energy source: the fat. That's why people burn off the fat so rapidly; they are depriving their body of a nutrient essential to life.

So please, NEVER entirely cut out carbohydrates from your diet. Eliminate the unhealthy ones, but PLEASE don't take them completely out of your diet.
