Well whereever you go make sure you bring along candels, wine(or your preference) and a lovely nighty. Really no matter where you go it's what you make of it. Enjoy your husband and let him enjoy you. Have a great time.

we recently went to San Fransisco and stayed at the bay landing hotel. It is right by the bay close to the airport....onthe right side facing the bay is Beni-Hana's on the left side is El torito and plenty more restaurants around. The best thing is San Fransisco is just 15 minutes away! you can do all the shopping and tourist thingy and then come back to a 3 1/2 star hotel.....when you book make sure you ask for the bay view rooms if available (they go fast) last time I was there (March this year) we couldn't get one but the room we got was still very nice ($119 a night) If price is not issue consider this....assuming you live in California....plenty of fun parks for the kids, caves etc.....look it up in the web

Try a bed and breakfast in the area you want to go. Check it out online first, if they have a website. Some leave a lot to be desired, I have heard. I, personally, haven't had a single bad experience. I introduced my husband to B & Bs on our honeymoon and now he would rather stay in one instead of a hotel whenever we have to be away from home. The accomodations and breakfasts have been second to no hotel I have ever stayed in. Good luck and have a nice time!

In San Diego the Bali Hai is a beautiful seafood Hawaiian restaurant overlooking the water. It feels like you're on a boat.

you could try a cruise. this season you can get pretty good deals on three and four night cruises. nothing like being completely pampered by the staff of a luxury cruise liner to provide a break from the daily grind of work and kids.
