You don't care about power consumption and hibernate's going to kill your internet connection. The only thing that can harm your computer is overheating. So long as you have good enough cooling to keep your components running at optimal levels, you'll be fine until normal wear-and-tear sets in and you need to replace something simple like a fan... in a few years, or never.
It's good to restart your computer weekly or biweekly with as little RAM as you have, since it will dump any lingering bits of unused data from the RAM, letting your computer run faster and putting less stress on your components, thus decreasing the heat of your system. Newer programs leave a lot less mess when they close than older ones, but they still almost always leave a little mess.
Occasionally cleaning your heatsinks and fans will help keep your cooling system in shape.

You did not mention the OS version you are using. For XP about 1 every 2-3 weeks you should reboot. For Win2k about once a month. For WinNT, I only reboot when I need to defrag the boot disk, since I keep the temp files on a separate partition, maybe once every 6 months to clean the inside of the case and all the filters. For Win9X or ME daily.
There is nothing wrong with keeping your system up all the time. Servers do it all the time 24/7/365. If fact your harddrives will last longer if you keep them on. The design of consumer harddrives is so cheap that they do not park the heads but instead they have landing zones that let the heads perform a controlled crash to the surface of the disc. So keeping the drive running will keep it alive longer. With all hard drives it is not a matter of IF the harddrive will crash but WHEN. As long as the system is kept cool there should not be any issue. Dust and lint will get in your system and foul up the fans and heatsinks, these need to be cleaned regularly or heating problems will kill your system. Plan opening up your case and vacuuming it out monthly or bi-monthly.

I work in a hospital and our comps are on 24/7/365 due to patient care. We make sure to use compressed air to keep dust build up to a minimum and that the cpu fans work. Other than that, no additional maintenance or problems.
On a related note, other 24/7/365 operations like local EMS, police, fire, air life, etc. run their comps constantly. No problems noted by them either.
According to my IT department, their biggest problem is replacing worn out keyboards.

Leaving your computer on all day doesn't break it, it just wastes electricity. Make sure your computer doesn't waste too much power by
1. right clicking on your deskttop and pressing "properties"
2. Pressing the "settings" tap
3. Clicking on "Power options" or "Power saving"
4. Telling your moniter to turn off after not being used for fifteen minutes.
5. and telling your computer to go into stand-by or hibernate after not being used for half an hour

I would turn it off once a week to let the system reboot. It has to dump all the things youve deleted, and make room for things youve installed. Give it a break once in a while

Nope, it should be fine, but a reboot once in awhile (about once a week) would help its performance. And don't forget to Defrag your hard drives about once a month.

My suggestion is that where you had kept your computer that room should be air conditioned or fan should work for 24 hours.Computer may get hang sometimes.Restart it if it hanged.
