Just because someone wishes to eat a cat or a dog does not make them a Satanist. First off, from what I understand of the religion, Satanists don't do that sort of thing; if anything, they're more of a humanist movement than anything we would call religious. Even in voodoo, animal sacrifice is rare, and has to follow some pretty strict rules.

My guess is that the person asking the question above is actually just joking -- I looked at some of his other questions, and many of them are in questionable taste -- but there are people all over the world who do eat cats, dogs or anything else that walks, crawls, flies or swims as a part of their normal diet, and there's nothing specifically wrong with it in their cultures. We tend to shy away from it because a) we choose pets because they're cute and we don't see them as livestock, b) most domestic animals kept in the home are not regulated as a food, so there is no guarantee that they're fit for human consumption, and c) except for farms, most people's homes and property are not zoned for the raising and slaughter of livestock, even if done humanely, so if you got yourself an animal (even one normally sold as food) and killed and butchered it in the basement parking garage of your apartment, you'd probably get fined by the city, not necessarily for animal cruelty (if you could prove you did it humanely) but by the FDA or the department of public health.

Don't judge the person asking the question based solely on your own beliefs, because they may have a perfectly valid viewpoint that disagrees with your own. As a matter of fact, I've eaten dog before when I was deployed overseas with the Navy. I didn't know it until after the first couple of bites, but it wasn't bad -- meat is meat, though this was chewier than I really liked, and I don't exactly stand in line for Fido-on-a-stick, but if that's what they're serving, there are far more objectionable foods out there.

This person may be planning a trip to asia. In other cultures different kinds of meat are considered acceptable and eating cat or dog meat is considered a delicacy in some countries. (dog meat is called tasty meat in china, cat meat is served as a snack on skewers) There are many other examples, eating chilled monkey brains in India and some parts of africa was considered elite, dolphin whale and octopus are all consumed as sushi or cooked in japan as is seaweed, drinking snakes blood or eating the kidneys of a snake is supposed to be good for memory in s.e. asian countries, bulls testicles are supposed to be very filling in america, sheeps bladder made in to a sausage is a common party food in britain, and fattened goose liver is one of the cornerstones of gourmet french food.

I'm not sure, it seems like he is actually convinced that he wants to try cat and dog! As horrific as that sounds I know that the Chinese eat dog and cat meat! It's so sad and disgusting but I honestly think that guy wants to experience their culture....:(!! I wish it wasn't true!!
