I'm a guy. I find this question a bit ridiculous, but I'll bite. Maybe you are serious.

To an extent, especially as a guy gets older, he can control his erections. If nothing else, he can choose what to think about. When I was 17, though, that little guy had a mind of his own and he'd be erect nearly all the time. That was inconvenient.

You're not likely to have an erection if you're nervous. You're more likely to shrivel up like a frightened turtle. Going to the doctor, especially if you know you're getting a "physical", makes one nervous just a bit. To me, even if the doctor was a woman and even if she was attractive, I think that being amorous would be the last thing on my mind. As a result, probably an erection wouldn't be in the picture. In that scenario, you'd about have to turn on the switch in your own mind on purpose. The fact that she's a woman and attractive might even add to the stress level and exacerbate the nervousness in the first place.

Imagine this.........are you going to get turned on if a hot guy doctor does your gyno exam? Probably not. Most guys are going to give a curt answer to your question, but the reality is that that's pure bravado. The truth is they'll wither and shrivel. :) Getting a physical isn't going to be a turn-on for a guy or a girl.

many erections are involuntary, they just happen. It's healthy and normal to get 3 to 5 erections a day, the penis need blood, to stay healthy.

Many can be brought on by visual stimulation ( seeing a sexy girl and thinking about her )
Many are brought on by touch, your skin is one big sex organ.
Or even talking dirty to him. ( my girls likes doing this to me, then gives a hug real close, to feel it pressed against her, and do a bit of grinding, it gets her going also)

yes it has happened, also to me, I'm older and frankly proud when it happens, the Dr office is a walk in clinic and half are women, and I have a small hernia, she checks me out every 6 months to make sure it has not gotten worst. Anyway, she feels around, and up I go, she tells me thanks for getting you penis out of the way so I can feel you tentacles for a hernia, I tell her any time and she giggles, then says nothing wrong down there.

but if the guy is so nervous he will not get an erection, or put in a situation that distracts him, example being socked with cold water.

if he is tired, a simple thought can bring it on

As to controlling it, sometimes and depends on the situation
if I hug my mother NO ( yuck ) …… hug my girl (yes, big time, reason sexually attractive).

Ask yourself this, can you control how wet you get, same thing.

for girls: Have a wet and wonderful day
For guys have an emotional erect day

I'm gay, and have been examined by attractive male doctors. Granted, I tend to have better "control" than some other guys I've talked to, but nothing happened. (I think it was in part because it was weird and I was nervous as well). So...depends on the individual.

It depends on the state of mind of the individual. Seeing as how most human beings do not have very much control over their own thought it is extremely difficult for some, and not so difficult for other. I have found the older I get the easier it becomes to control.

It isn't impossible.

Most doctors urologists use drapes when examining your testes. It is common practice in fact... When having a vasectomy the doctor and nurses examined and tugged and yanked to where felt like my ears would pop. No rise at all.

No it's not impossible not to get one. It's based on arousal, and female doctors aren't one that I would be aroused by. So, to answer your question(s), I would say

suppose a female doctor is examining your testes? No.

does it depend on her attractiveness? Turn off - female doctors.

can you control it if you want to? Absolutely.

that depends on the situation....if i'm naked lying down on a cold examine table and a pretty female doctor with a cold freezing hand touching my testicles, i will not be able to get an erection !! most probably my penis will be shrinking from the cold freezing atmosphere.

Unless you're 15 and your hormones over the moon, there is very little possibility you are going to get an erection.

I've had nurses do things while I was naked on an operating table, that I won't even mention. It's all part of medicine. To them, I'm just a chunk of meat. To me, they're medical professionals. Thoughts of sexual activity, were a million miles away.

"It" has a mind of it's own. You can't control it. If a female doctor was examining my testicles, I'd get as hard as Chinese Math, even if she was butt ugly.
