I am a biologist who changed career fields to financial services. I'd be happy to send you a bit of info regarding my company, but I don't know if that's permissible thru here.
If it is, you can contact me thru my open box at bluecheck@lycos.com and I will send you a few articles that will give you a feel for what we do.
I love it, I'm able to help people, and I like the company but this is not the spot for an "ad".

Dont' think too hard or you'll miss all that heavenly glory.
What you choose to do for a living has to come with a set of guide lines for your future.
Your goals have to be met and so choose a career that will get you there.

yes, you can do about anything you set your mind too, and make a living.
sounds like your problem is, you're not sure what you want to do. while you are still working, try looking around at what you like to do... research... work with people... lead teams... work hands on projects... etc.
i can tell you lots of things that you can 'do for a living', but what do you like to do? if you don't know, then start researching to find out what you like, then find a place to work doing that.
