no math can be used for many things that are not related to science. If it was worded "Math is a tool for science" then i might agree with it because then it isn't saying that math is exclusively a tool for science.

No, I do not. Obviously Math is a necessary tool for science, but it is far more than that. I would define math as the study of what is true by necessity. Namely the study of the structure of logical systems. One can discover beautiful truths in math that go far beyond what we observe in nature.

I don't agree. It is not just a tool for science. We use it in our everyday lives. Obviously the more complicated maths is of no use to daily life.

it could be. Math is not only a tool for science, but could also be a tool for everything else in the world.
Someone else said that quote, but I don't remember who it was (it was a famous mathematician).

Math and science are both human inventions. They are like a way for humans to look at the universe in a way we can understand. The way we look at a certain amount of items and name them "seven"(counting), or make up "guidelines" for motiion (newton's laws of motion), or give light a random number as its "speed", are just interfaces for humans understand the complex universe a little better
