Which is the safest place to leave a spare key to your home?

Hide it somewhere in your back yard. If you have a porch, push it into the ground just behind one of the support posts......It is out of site and not in a common place that a thief would look under. Make sure you remember what post and where your placed it there. If you are going out of town, your best bet would be to give the key to a TRUSTED friend or neighbor. If you don't have a porch, pick somewhere along your house, near a corner and push it into the dirt.....if you think you will lose it too easy,,put it on a big paperclip or a keychain..but still push it far enough into the ground that it can't be seen.........we have done this and NEVER had anyone else find the key............

Try with a neighbor. Crooks all ways look under the mat, in the lights, and around the front door.
