I have a friend that is over in west affrica and he is wantting me to get a banking account in my name so he can put his money in it and then I sent it to him is that a wise thing to do.

No, that is not a wise thing to do. That is a scam. He will send you a bad check, you'll send him funds, and by the time you find out his check bounced, he'll have disappeared.

Don't do it.

By the way, Wells Fargo has some mortgage branches as close as Kalamazoo, but the nearest Wells Fargo Banks are in Indiana.

Don't do it. It will cause you nothing but grief in the long run.
If he has access to the internet he can do it himself.
Most scams start just the way you have discrbed.

DON'T DO IT.
